The Quai Branly Museum in Paris has always been one of my favorite destinations to discover new cultures from around the world and across continents. And I was delighted to learn more about traditional Egyptian arts, something that I haven’t done when I visited Cairo.
The group of professional artists performed ethnic contemporary dances fusing different styles of arts. What is quite intriguing is that the wooden stick, which has always been used as a tool in traditional dances since the Pharaonic civilization, is at the center of this show. Used both in solo or group dances, and always on the rhythm of oriental instruments.
